Solid Scagliola Vase: crafted, sanded and hand polished to a high shine finished with wax for durability. Scagliola is a centuries-old technique developed to replicate marble, alabaster and limestone. This process allows us to create intricate, organic patterns we have shaped into the universally appealing shape of the vase. The finished work looks and feels like stone. We call them solid vases since they do not contain interior space. While the palette and process are repeatable each work is entirely unique. Small inclusions are part of the handmade appeal and add to the uniqueness of the sculptural object. Each solid vase is completed with little cork pads on the bottom so as not to damage your surfaces while they enhance your shelf, mantle or desk. Handcrafted in Toronto.
